Party Planning

ICE

Don’t forget the ice! Most party hosts will supply a 1 pound of ice per guest for chilling or drinking purposes. On very warm days, plan on closer to 1 1/2 pounds per person. No one likes a hot beer!

MIXERS, NON-ALCHOLIC DRINKS, GARNISHES

We all have that one friend who won't drink her Captain and Diet without a lime--don't forget the limes! (and lemons and oranges) Get a variety of cola and lemon-lime pop, diet and regular. Some of your guests may want ginger-ale or club soda.  Unless you know the drink habits of your crowd, supply plenty of mixers!  Plan on one non- alcoholic drink per guest if they are also drinking libations.  If they are the DD of the night, plan on 3-4 non-alcoholic drinks.  Same for children

COCKTAILS

The average guest will drink 2 cocktails per hour for the first 2 hours and one every hour after.

WINE

Estimate one bottle of wine for every two guests at a two hour cocktail party. Plan on one glass per guest per hour after. If serving both red and white wines, you should have twice as many white as red, unless you know specifically that your guests are red wine drinkers. Keep in mind that some wine drinkers like dry wine and some like sweet.  Unless you know which your guests prefer, get a variety of options.

BEER

Most Folks will drink two 12oz beers every hour, unless its nascar… Man can those guys drink. Always get extra beer because the worst that happens is, you have extra beer.

BUDGET CONSCIOUS

We know...you want your guests to have a good time and don't want to be a cheapskate, but you also don't want a payment plan with the liquor store. To stay in your alcohol budget, serve wine, beer, and replace the the top shelf liquor with a less pricier version as the night goes on.  Come visit with the staff or contact Lori (either of us) and we will help you figure out what you need.
